U.S. President Donald Trump has criticized Dr. Deborah Birx, the coordinator of the White House coronavirus task force, for warning about the seriousness of the coronavirus pandemic in the country.
During an interview with CNN on Sunday, Birx said that the pandemic has reached a new phase of “extraordinary widespread,” which sees the rural as equal to the urban areas. The expert also suggested that people from a multi-generational family should wear masks inside their homes.

On Monday, Trump tweeted, “In order to counter Nancy, Deborah took the bait & hit us. Pathetic!” At a press briefing on Monday afternoon, he then stressed that the country is doing very well after being asked about the meaning of the tweet.
The CNN report added that Trump has consistently tried to downplay concerns about COVID-19, even though the highly contagious virus has infected more than four million people and killed more than 150,000 U.S. citizens.
Unlike Dr. Anthony Fauci, Birx has been able to develop a close relationship with Trump as she has avoided criticizing the administration openly, reported CNN.
