Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that he had signed into law the “Hong Kong Autonomy Act,” and also put his signature on an executive order that ends the United States’ preferential treatment of Hong Kong.
The U.S. move has grossly interfered in China’s internal affairs and seriously violated international law, as well as the basic norms governing international relations, read the Foreign Ministry statement, adding that its attempts to obstruct the implementation of the National Security Law for Hong Kong will never succeed.
In addition, China said that it will impose sanctions on relevant United States personnel and entities.
